Nina, ink on watercolor paper, 2012. I drew this picture of nine-year-old Nina (pronounced “NINE-a”), a boxer-pitbull-bulldog mix, for a colleague who sadly had to say goodbye to her dog over the weekend. I never met Nina myself, but I know from the stories I’ve heard that she was a beloved, faithful, caring dog who will be missed dearly by her family and everyone who knew her. Big hugs… saying goodbye is so, so hard.
